Directions:
The Hare & Hounds is easy to find and is prominently on the A131, which is the main road running between Braintree and Sudbury.
From the M11 and Stansted follow the A120 toward Colchester, when you reach the A131 instersection (near to Braintree Freeport) follow the A131 toward Halstead and Sudbury. THe Hare & Hounds is located about 5 mins from this junction.
From the A12 follow signage to Braintree via Witham or Chelmsford. Upon reaching Braintree follow any signage for the A131.
From Braintree follow the one way system through the town and head towards Halstead or Bocking. The A131 will be signed from Braintree town centre.
The Hare & Hounds is also 5 minutes form the Fennes Estate and around 10 mins form Towerlands equestrian centre. See other local attractions here.
Transport
Car Parking – We have a large car park at the Hare and Hounds. If you need to leave your vehicle for any length of time, please notify the manager. Please note all vehicles are left at the owners risk.
Taxi - Taxis are available on 01376 330330 or on 01376 323150
Approximate costs are £6 to Fennes Estate, £6 to Braintree Station, £7 to Freeport Shopping Village or £15 to Witham Station and £35 to Stansted Airport, however after 11pm the prices will increase.
Buses - A local bus service number 89 runs between Halstead and Braintree town centres and 352 runs between Halstead to Chelmsford and Broomfield Hospital via Braintree. Bus stops are located directly outside the Hare and Hounds on both sides of the road
Trains - Trains run from Braintree to London Liverpool Street and run approximately every hour. A return fare to London is around £16.50.
A more regular train service runs from Witham Station.
Airport - Stansted Airport is located on the A120 and takes approximately 20 minutes car drive door to door. Short, medium and log term parking is available at the airport.
